The main pipes (14, 16) run along two sides of the triangle and are linked together by transverse heat conducting pipes (18) connected to the absorber (12) of the collector (10). These pipes (18) run parallel to the third side of the triangle. Their cross sectional area diminishes as the pipes get shorter. The collector has a third main pipe (22) which conducts a large part of the heating medium essentially without heating by the absorber, and it is also equipped with a switch (24) to selectively connect or disconnect it from the flowpath of the medium.
