A tube (I) is claimed, with at least one inner tube (A), a reinforcing layer (B) and an outer sheath (C), in which (i) (A) and (C) are made of thermoplastic elastomer consisting of vulcanised rubber (II) dispersed in a thermoplastic (III), (ii) the value of Mp (as defined in equn. 1) is not greater than 70 kgf/cm2, and (iii) the flexural strength of (I) at a bending radius 4 times greater than the outside dia. of (I) is not greater than 1 kgf. In (I) t1, t2 = thickness (mm) of (A) and (C) respectively; M1, M2 = stress at 25% strain (kgf/cm2) for (A) and (C) respectively. USE/ADVANTAGE - The invention provides a plastic tube which is as flexible as a tube of vulcanised rubber but also has excellent heat resistance, enabling it to be used also for applications involving exposure to elevated temp. (120 deg.C and above), e.g. pressure transmission, fluid transport.
