The front (2) loading type video tape recorder has a housing that contains a drive module (7), analogue unit (8), operating unit (9), digital unit (11) and a switched power supply (12). Each of the modules are located on the same plane with the box shaped housing and have rectangular base plates. External connections are made via a Euro AV connector (62) at the rear of the unit and internal connections are made with cables (29). The analogue and digital plates carry a range of IC elements (51-57) and analogue devices (20-32). USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides ease of access for servicing interconnector, assembly.
