<p>A process for producing 1,1,1,2,3-pentafluoropropene in a high yield from a readily available 1,1,1,2,3,3-hexafluoropropane industrially at a low cost, which process comprises bringing the gaseous hexafluoropropane into contact with active carbon optionally containing a metallic salt to effect dehydrofluorination. A process for producing 1,1,1,2,3-pentafluoropropane at a high conversion and a high selectivity, which comprises reducing 1,1,1,2,3-pentafluoropropene with hydrogen in the presence of either a hydrogenation catalyst comprising palladium and, added thereto, one or more metals selected from among silver, copper, gold, tellurium, zinc, chromium, molybdenum and thallium, or a rhodium catalyst.</p> |
