Portion dispensing device for media, with media wetted surfaces and at least one media chamber (9) in a base unit for receiving and delivering of medium during the dispensing operation, where the device has a flush chamber (11) which during dispensing of operation is essentially not contacted by the handled medium, and which is at least partially enclosed by a surrounding inner surface (32) of a flush chamber wall (6), is novel in that at least part of a flush chamber wall (6) and at least part of a media chamber (9) are arranged to be in opposite locations during the dispensing operation. USE/ADVANTAGE - Syringe pipette with reduced contact surfaces for handled fluids, which can be more readily cleaned/sterilised, and where a flush chamber can be intermittently or continuously purged with a sterile medium (e.g. dry air) to exclude ingress of bacteria, eetc. during use.
