The printing machine involves has several printing plate cylinders for stretching printing plates. A first printing plate cylinder is moved to the plate slacken position and the rear edge of the printing plate on this cylinder is loosened. The printing plate cylinder is then turned to the plate unwinding direction and stopped when a second printing plate cylinder is in the slackening position in order to slacken the printing plate. The printing plates are then unwound, slackened at their front edges and removed. The printing machine is then turned in the other direction and is stopped in the printing plate feed position of a first plate cylinder. Each printing plate cylinder before a new printing plate is fixed into position is moved into the zero position with regard to its side register. USE/ADVANTAGE - To exchange printing plates in printing machine automatically with full side register correction.
