The conventional elements of the vehicular power supply circuit are augmented with a three-phase transformer (13) producing independent voltages from its sec. windings (15) which constitute the operative windings of a three-phase transductor. Control windings on the transformer core are connected to a source of adjustable control current which sets the working point on its magnetisation curve. The core itself is mfd. of material having a pronounced, and approx. rectangular and pref. relatively small, hysteresis loop. ADVANTAGE - Either continuous or rapidly successive changes in load current or supply voltage are possible with relatively low electrical and mechanical complexity and without significant increase in energy consumption.
