Material and elements (1,2;7) are integrated into the controlled object whose lengths are accurately, rapidly and reversibly controllable by computer. The length changes of the elements can be achieved by computer-controlled electromagnetic forces, inductively or capacitively. Alternatively, the length changes can be caused by computer controlled thermal expansion o gaseous, liquid or solid bodies. Length changes of bimetallic elements can be used. The variable length elements can be embedded in elastic materials. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in medical or sports therapeutic applications etc. Enables measurement of pressure, length and vol. simultaneously with patient lying, standing or moving.
