The invention relates to a housing for mounting in a support for an electrical fixture. The housing is of the type comprising a part forming a base (2) and a part forming a cover (3), the part forming a base comprising means for supporting in particular the terminals for electrical connection to the grid and to said electrical fixture. The housing is characterised in that the support means comprise two separate plates (4, 6), a first plate (4) intended to serve as support for the terminals (5) for electrical connection to the grid and slideably mounted in said base, and a second plate (6) which carries the connections (7) to the electrical fixture and is selectively removable from said base (2) when the housing (1) is placed in position in its support. The invention may be used for illumination candelabras.
