<p>A valve (3) is capable of preventing liquid from stagnating in a branch pipe (2) connected to a main flow pipe (1) and/or in the valve (3) provided for the branch pipe when the valve (3) is closed to prevent flow to an outlet 14. The valve (3) has a diversion member (8) inserted in a liquid passageway (7) in the valve case (4) which is connected to an end portion of the branch pipe (2) in such a manner that an end portion (9) of the diversion member (8) extends into the main pipe (1). In use, with the valve closed and liquid flowing in the main pipe (1), the diversion member (8) diverts flowing liquid continuously into the passageway (7) and back to the main pipe. <IMAGE></p> |
