[Also in Division Fl] In a drench gun for animals, a tubular piston rod 30 of hand plastics material has, in its bore, a spring-loaded inlet valve 34 and a screw nut 42 into which an expander 57 with a frustroconical portion 60 is screwed, the portion 60 expanding on elastomeric tube 55 to press a tubular sleeve 45 of semi flexible plastics material and which is mounted on the piston rod, into sealing engagement with the cylinder bore 25 of the gun. Ears 28 on a pivotable portion of the handgrip fit on a boss 35 to engage a collar 36 and lugs 37 on the piston rod for non-rotatable movement of the piston unit when the handgrip is squeezed, and a knob 22 may be turned to adjust the unsqueezed position of the pivotable portion of the handgrip whereby the volume discharged may be varied.
