A boring head comprises a tool slide 4, Fig. 4, movable in a slideway transverse of a body member 2, dial means 8 for indicating adjustment movements! and means 11, Fig. 6, for frictionally locking the slide in the body. A screw 7 locks a tool in a bore 5 or a bore 6. The body is mounted by a threaded socket. 3. Rotation of the internally-threaded dial means 8 causes movement of a threaded cam-bar 15 engaging an inclined slot 18 in the slide 4. The slide is thus moved radially of the body. The locking means, comprises the screw 11 for moving.wedge pins 26 to cause grooved bars 20, Fig. 8 (not shown), to pull flanges 21 on the slide against the body. : Furthermore, pins 30, Fig. 7 (not shown), expand a dial looking ring 28. |
