NEW CLEAVING ENZYME GENE OF ARYLGLYCEROL-BETA-ARYL ETHER TYPE BOND

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a new DNA fragment useful for expressing an etherase in a bacterium of the genus Pseudomonas or Escherichia coli. CONSTITUTION:The objective DNA fragment comprises a gene for commanding an enzyme (hereinafter referred to as etherase) capable of specifically cleaving an arylglycerol-beta-aryl ether type bond which is a main intramolecular bond of lignin as indicated by a scheme of the formula in segments obtained by cleaving the chromosomic DNA of a microorganism capable of producing the etherase with a restriction enzyme. This DNA fragment is prepared by cloning a bacterium Pseudomonas.paucimobilis capable of producing the etherase with a wild strain (SYK-6 strain), etc.
