<p>PURPOSE:To secure the amount of loops optimum for a transfer material so as to reduce the rate of occurrence of jams by varying, when adjusting the drive timing of a main feed roller, both the time required for a jam recognition timer to recognize jams and the drive timing of an auxiliary feed roller according to the time required for adjusting the drive timing of the main feed roller. CONSTITUTION:A transfer device 17 transfers a developed image on an electrostatic latent image carrier 11 to a transfer material S on a transfer material holder 15. A transfer material feeding device 14 feeds the transfer material S toward the transfer material holder 15. In this case, a main feed roller 31 for feeding the transfer material S toward the transfer material holder 15 and an auxiliary feed roller 32 for forming a loop by feeding the transfer material S toward the main feed roller are disposed in the transfer material feeding device 14. A sensor 35 for detecting transfer material and a timer for recognizing the jam of the transfer material S according to a signal indicating detection by the sensor 35 are disposed. To change the drive timing of the main feed roller 31, the time required for the timer to recognize jams and the drive timing of the auxiliary feed roller 32 are varied according to the time for adjusting the drive timing of the main feed roller 31.</p> |
