PURPOSE:To make the fitting of a color or character in a screen easy in the title method recording a color image by the combined use of optical recording and thermal recording, by applying optical recording to an optically fixable thermal color forming layer through an optical mask using an electromagnetic wave with a specific wavelength and subsequently applying thermal recording thereto. CONSTITUTION:An optical mask 20 having a mask pattern 25 is superposed on a color thermal recording material 10 having cyan, magenta and yellow thermal color forming layers 12-14 and a protective layer 15 and optical recording is applied to the color thermal recording material by the irradiation with an electromagnetic wave having a specific wavelength. The optical mask 20 having the mask pattern 25 consists of an opaque part 22 composed of black ink blocking ultraviolet rays and a transparent part 23 and the mask pattern 25 is bonded to the transparent part 23. The mask pattern 25 is formed by drawing a character image 26 using ultraviolet blocking ink. After optical recording is performed, the thermal color forming layers 12-14 are subjected to thermal recording. |
