POLYPROPYLENE RESIN MADE FROSTED HOLLOW CONTAINER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain favorable fabrication properties and frosted appearance by a method wherein a container consists of a resin composition containing a polypropylene resin as a main material and a resin as a submaterial having a softening temperature higher than that of the main material in a specific compounding ratio, and the surface of the container is so structured as to have irregularities of the submaterial. CONSTITUTION:A container consists of a resin composition containing a polypropylene resin as a main material and at least one kind of resin as a submaterial having a softening temperature at least 20 deg.C higher than that of the main material in a main material/submaterial compounding ratio (weight ratio) of 98/2-60/40. The surface of the container is so structured as to have irregularities of the submaterial. A preform for the container is obtained by injecting the resin composition at a temperature higher than the melting temperatures of both the polymers at a speed of 350 mm/sec or lower, at which the dispersed resin as the submaterial cannot remarkably deform to a flat form. The preform is blown to be biaxially oriented at a temperature not higher than the softening temperature of the submaterial. As a result, the frosted appearance is obtained.
