PURPOSE:To extend the application range of a card by a method wherein in producing a member's card or the like, a layer to be engraved is formed on a card surface by thermally transferring a thermal transfer layer film opposed to the card surface by a heating die, and the layer to be engraved is engraved using an electronic engraving machine. CONSTITUTION:Printing layers 7, 8 are provided on the top and rear surfaces of a card substrate 1 made of polypropylene or the like by printing requirements corresponding to the purpose of the card. Thereon, cover sheet layers 9, 10 are provided by laminating transparent plastic films. In this manner, a card 11, is produced. Thereafter, a layer to be engraved 15 is formed by thermally transferring a thermal transfer film 18 to the surface of the card 11 using a die 17. Succeedingly, a predetermined image, such as a portrait, is engraved on the layer to be engraved 15 of the card 11 using an electronic carving machine. Next, the engraved surface is protected by a laminating film. |
