PURPOSE:To feed an item to be packed easily and surely by a method wherein a packing film is formed into a cylindrical shape and the opposite edges thereof are alternately superposed on each other to fuse the edges to the film and the lower part of the film is sealed by fusing so that a first and second storage parts are expanded alternately by means of an expanding means. CONSTITUTION:A packing film 1 which has been formed into a cylindrical shape by a forming plate 13 and whose opposite edges 1a, b have been superposed on each other is sent downwardly along a chute 16 by a package feed roller so that the edges 1a, b are fused by a vertical fusing device, while the lower part of the film is fused by a horizontal fusing, cutting device. An item to be packed is put into a first storage part of the cylindrical packing film with bottom 1 through the chute 16. A cylinder device 20 is actuated to turn the chute 16 and a hopper 19 about an axis 18 to the side of a device body 10, so that the interval (Q) between both ends 13b, c of the plate 13 is expanded to as large as the width of an opening of the hopper 19 to put the item into a second storage part through the hopper 19. The device 20 is then released to return the chute 16 and the hopper 19 to their original positions and the upper end of the film 1 is fused by the horizontal fusing, cutting device.
