PURPOSE:To install a cover member so as to open with parallel movement. CONSTITUTION:A cover member 27 to close an opening formed in a side door at an air bag storing position and on the cabin interior side is locked using a battledore type breakaway resin member 28 which is broken by a load beyond a specified limit. The cover member 27 is connected to a backup plate 23 by a band strip 31 so that the cover member 27 does not fly out beyond a specified distance. Then, when the cover member 27 is opened with parallel movement, the air bag is widely expanded with less protrusion toward the cabin interior to spread it smoothly. |
