PURPOSE:To make it possible to edit image information corresponding to plural sheets of original to one sheet. CONSTITUTION:When 4 sheets of original are edited to one sheet and it is transmitted, an arbitrary edition pattern, for instance, a pattern dividing the size corresponding to one sheet of recording paper into four equal parts is set by an edition pattern setting means 4. Next, the arrangement of each original is set. Based on this arrangement, the reduction ratio of each original is calculated by a reduction ratio calculation means 5. In this case, as the division is four equal parts division, the longitudinal and lateral reduction ratios become 1/2. Next, the 4 sheets of original are read by an image reading means 2 and these are reduced by a reduction means 6 based on a prescribed reduction ratio. The reduced image information is stored in a memory means 7 according to the arrangement of the edition pattern. Thus, the image information corresponding to 4 sheets of image information is edited to one sheet of image information. Next, the edited image information is read and is transmitted by a transmission means 8. On a reception side, this is printed out on one sheet of recording paper. Thus, communication time and recording paper become possible to be saved. |
