摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a main signal during transmission by amplifier an optical signal including a control bit by means of a laser beam via an photocoupler, sending the amplified signal through an optical fiber and extracting the control bit so as to apply drive control to an amplifier laser. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal S3 including a control bit CT sent through an optical fiber transmission line 8 is inputted to an Er doped optical fiber 10 through a photocoupler 12. An excited light whose wavelength is 1.48mum radiating from an active laser diode 301 or a standby laser diode 30. is coupled with the fiber 10 via a polarized wave coupler 32 or the photocoupler 12 and the signal light is amplified. The amplified optical signal Ss is branched into an optical fiber 16 and an optical fiber transmission line 18 and sent at a BS 14. The signal light Ss is converted into an electric signal at an 0/E converter 20, the control bit CT is extracted via a BPF 24 in an ALC circuit 22 and a peak detection circuit 26, converted into a DC level and inputted to a drive circuit 28 to control a drive current of an LD 30.
