PURPOSE:To surely prevent winding and faulty separation of transferring paper and to surely prevent faulty transfer, etc., by specifying a distance from the position of a follower roller in the vicinity of a photosensitive body to a nip part where the photosensitive body and a transferring belt are opposed. CONSTITUTION:An output voltage V0 is changed in accordance with the change of a current at a bias roller 10. When the value is a maximum value, the distance from the position of the follower roller 3 to the position of the nip part B is L1, and the output voltage applied to the bias roller 10 from a high voltage power source 11 is V0; L1 is set to obtain the relation of L1>=aX¦V0¦ (a=1.0mm/KV). The distance L2 to the bias roller 10 from the nip part B is set in the same manner. In the case of assuming that the transferring belt is a dielectric having a time constant (t), the bias roller 10 approaches the photosensitive body 2 in a state where the value of the output voltage V0 is highly set; for example, when the roller 10 is positioned directly under the photosensitive body 2, there might be a risk to cause breakdown with respect to a conductive part inside the photosensitive body 2, so that the situation must be prevented. |
