The connecting plug (1) is fixed to a connector (60) with a pre-shaped pin. The connector base has female type contacts (63) in an insulator (64) and the plug has male type connectors (4) in an insulator (3). The vertical (2) side of the plug engages with the vertical section (62) of the base and each of the two separate pieces has, at least, one pre-shaped pin designed in a complementary manner to allow the two pieces to fit together. The base has a second wall (61) which encases the pre-shaped pins. The shapes of the pins on the plug and the base will determine and reduce the number of different pieces that can be connected together. The appts. may have as many as 256 different combinations and can be set in the shape of a prism of polygonal shape.
