PURPOSE:To provide a page make-up device for image capable of executing mask processing by the minimum memory capacity. CONSTITUTION:In the case of setting up the gradation value of image data in a mask part of an original to a maximum or minimum value as mask data and writing image data including the mask data in a prescribed position of a page make-up image memory part 25 in the page make-up device for image, a mask controller 27 detects a maximum or minimum gradation value and controls these image data (mask data) so as not to write them in the memory part 25.
