PURPOSE:To allow the telephone set to inform automatically an idle user and an idle public line as soon as the public line is idle by providing a standby table used to store the recognition number of a slave set making a call request when the public line is busy to the telephone set and providing a line information display section to the slave set. CONSTITUTION:When a cordless slave set 11c makes dialing, a cordless master set 15 uses a reception section 4 to receive the call signal and sends it to a multiplexer/demultiplexer section 6 after the recovery. A radio control section 14 decodes the control signal to detect the presence of a dial request from a slave set 11c. When a public line L is busy in this case, a signal representing that the public line L is busy is sent to the slave set 11c. When the user of the slave set 11c awaits an idle line, a control signal is sent to the master set 15. A central control section 13 registers the recognition number of the slave set 11c to a standby table 12. Thus, when the central control section 13 detects that the talking of the user using the line L is finished, the idle line L is displayed on the display section of the slave set 11c.
