Pharmaceutical compsn. contg. MDP-DD-GDP (I) are new., The compns. are pref. prepd. as vaccines contg. pathogenic agents, particularly human or mammnalian viruses or virus fractions. The prepn. of compsn. against HIV and tumours is esp. pref.. The compsns. are pref. biphasic, an aqueous phase and a hydrophobic phase. The hydrophobic phase may be a mineral oil, lipids, polyoxylene- polyoxypropylene polymers, polyoxyethylene sorbitan esters. USE - The compsns. exert a selective adjuvant action on the humoral or cellular mediation immunity response, or pref. both of these, without inducing auto-immune disorders. The action is similar to that of Freund's complete adjuvant, but without inducing the known side effects of this.
