SIGNAL INPUT DEVICE FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE:To automatically discriminate two kind of foot control pedals which are a switch type and a variable resistor type. CONSTITUTION:The switch type (digital signal output) or variable resistor type (analog signal output) type foot control pedal is connected to an input jack 10. The signal from the foot control pedal is inputted to an MPU 30 through an A/D converter 20. The MPU 30 samples this signal at intervals of 4msec. The MPU 30 discriminates which of analog and digital signals is applied according to variation in the sampled voltage value. Therefore, which of the foot control pedals is connected can be discriminated.
