The vehicle seat is formed from a seat base (2), for at least one person, a seat back (4) and a raising seat (3), for a baby or a small child. The raising seat consists of a seat support (32) and squab, fitted to the main seat frame by links (27 and 28), which allow the raising seat to occupy and lock into a retracted position for normal use and a raised position for use by a child. The seat back (4) has a concave shape and the central lower panel (4c) contains the adjustable harness (6). The raising seat (3) is formed as a separate element from the fixed seat base (2). It has the same structure and shape as the seat base, but the rear edge has a convex profile (11), which is complementary to the front edge of the fixed seat base. The frame has a base plate (26) fitted beneath the raising part of the seat, to form a foot rest for the child occupying the raised seat. USE/ADVANTAGE - It provides a good protective seat for a child, when in the raised position, without affecting the comfort of the adult user in the lowered position.
