<p>PURPOSE:To accurately judge the existence of an object even when the brightness, background, or the like of an input image is changed. CONSTITUTION:A bright reference image 16 and a dark reference image 17 are stored in a reference image storing part 15. No object is included in these reference images 16, 17. An input image part 11 inputs an image photographed by a TV camera or the like. A correlative coefficient calculating part 12 calculates a correlative coefficient r1 between the image 16 and the input image and a correlative coefficient r2 between the image 17 and the input image. When bath of r1<T1 and r2<T2 (T1, T2 are thresholds) are satisfied, an object existence judging part 13 judges the existence of the object. A judged result output part 14 outputs a judged result. By the way, reference images having different backgrounds or the like can also be used in addition to reference images for brightness.</p> |
