The jack has a pair of arms (1,2), with a ground support surface (4) at one end and the vehicle support (3) at the other. The two arms pivot at either end of a base (7), which carries centrally the operating screw (13), in stop (15). The screw nut (10.2) locates on the pivot (10) of two small rods (8,9). The other rod ends (11,12) pivot near the centre of the arms. A slide (7.3), joined to the base, carries the common pivot of the two small rods. ADVANTAGE - Speed of pivot height adjustment varies with the force required for the vehicle weight, easing user effort.
