<p>PURPOSE:To improve the speech recognition rate by performing sound volume control so that the output signal of the equipment is set blow the variation permissible value of a reference value even when the sound volume is increased. CONSTITUTION:Once the device is set in recognition mode, a microprocessor 12 controls a tape reproducing circuit 5 and an electronic variable resistor 9 according to the speech recognition result from a speech recognizing circuit 4 or the operation of respective keys. At this time, the microprocessor 12 inputs the output signal of the electronic variable resistor 9 through an A/D converter 11 and controls the reference value for the output of a speech section of the speech recognizing circuit 4 according to the signal. Consequently, the recognition rate of a speech is improved. Then the microprocessor 12 when detecting the level of sound recording to a cassette tape being high and the output signal level from the electronic variable resistor 9 exceeding the variation permissible value of the reference value of the speech recognizing circuit 4 controls the electronic variable resistor 9 to set the output level below an upper-limit value.</p> |
