PURPOSE:To make high speed packet communication possible between a private branch of exchange (PBX) terminal equipment and a local area network(LAN) terminal equipment by providing a packet exchange means having a specific function to the PBX. CONSTITUTION:A packet exchange means 110 of a PBX 100 receives a packet from PBX packet reception means 130, 131 or a LAN packet reception means 150 and transfers the packet to a PBX packet transmission means 160. For example, the PBX packet reception means 130 transfers the packet received from the packet terminal equipment 301 to the packet exchange means 110. The packet exchange means 110 extracts a destination individual number from the packet and obtains the relevant address information by an individual number conversion means 120 and sends the packet to the LAN packet transmission means 160. The transmission means 160 sends the packet to a LAN 200 and a LAN packet reception means 151 receives the packet and informs the reception to a LAN terminal equipment 210. |
