PURPOSE:To output detection signals which are set according to the state of a battery by monitoring the battery state of the portable electronic equipment. CONSTITUTION:The power unit of the portable electronic equipment running on the ac power supply by an AC adapter 1 and the dc power supply by a battery 2 forcedly holds the time in the dead state for a prescribed time when detecting the dead voltage of the battery 2 in driving the battery. In driving the ac power supply running on the ac power supply while charging the battery 2, a battery monitoring section 3 outputting a detection signal when detecting the opening state of the battery 2 is provided.
