The system includes an emitter (1) which produces a coded signal detected by a receiver (4) in a locking controller (2), and compared, via a microprocessor (5), with the code previously entered in the memory (6). As well as unlocking the doors, the unit transmits (7) a continuous coded pulse train to the calculator unit (3). If this conforms to the preset code in the unit memory (9, 10), an associated microprocessor (8) activates (11) the pre-heating controller (12). If the emitter is not available, and the vehicle is entered using a key, the necessary code can be entered in the calculator via a dashboard pushbutton (13). ADVANTAGE - Convenient and inexpensive. Engine should generally be ready when driver operates starter, but will not start without correct encoding, enhancing security.
