METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EDITING SENTENCE

PURPOSE:To detect and display numerical expressions with the unit of the identical dimension in the sentence and to convert the detected numerical expression to an unit numerical expression specified by an operator to be substituted for the numericlal expression or to be inserted as an annotation. CONSTITUTION:A dimemsion discriminating part 6 discriminates the dimension of the numerical expression with the unit detected by a numerical expression detection part 4. Based on that, an identical dimension unit classification part 7 classifies the numerical expressions by the every identical dimension and an identical dimension unit display part 8 displays the numerical expressions by the every identical dimension. On the other hand, a numerical/unit conversion part 11 converts the numerical expressions to the numerical expressions of the unit specified by an unit specifying part 10. Further, an unit prefix adding part 13 automatically adds a prefix to the unit of the numerical expression which comes under an applied rule stored in an unit prefix table 12. Then, an annotation inserting part 14 inserts the converted numerical expression with the unit as the annotation.
