PURPOSE:To enable a program serching of music, a search for an optional point, and an index search by providing a retrieving means which retrieves desired software for a KARAOKE by using P and Q channel data of a subcode regarding a compressed data signal at the time of reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The P channel data indicates the head of the music and the controller 15 of a KARAOKE device 10 retrieves this data to perform the program serching of the music. Further, the Q channel data is used for access to a CD-ROM, i.e., the program serching of the music, search for an optional point, and index search. In this access operation, the controller 15 reads the P and Q channel data out by an optical pickup, judges how much a current position is moved forward or backward according to the difference between the current position and a target position, and then moves the optical pickup to the target according to the judgement result. When access operation is further performed, the controller 15 repeats this operation. |
