The electronically-commutated electric motor has a stator with a pair of stator windings (32,33) and a rotor position sensor cooperating with a magnetised zone of the rotor, to provide a signal for the commutation control energising each of the stator windings (32,33) in alternation. A capacitor (23) bridging the control terminals of the stator windings (32,33) allows the stator winding currents to overlap during the commutation process. Pref. each of the stator windings (32,33) is formed from a bifilar coil supported by a plate attached to a plastics base. ADVANTAGE - Compact motor. |
