PURPOSE:To make a quick sound generation designation simulating a stroke playing method, through easy operation by providing an operation element which is movable in a specific direction as an operation element corresponding to, for example, a keyboard, and detecting the position where the operation element is moved and generating keying information corresponding to the detected position. CONSTITUTION:A base 10a fitted with the operation rod 10b of the operation element 10 is supported by a gimbals mechanism and at a specific position of the base 10a, a variable resistor 11 which has a different resistance value corresponding to the inclination by the rotation of the rod is provided. The signal from the variable resistor 11 is supplied to a level detecting circuit 12, whose position detecting circuit detects the rotational position of the operation rod 10b from the voltage from the variable resistor 11. Then the level detecting circuit 12 generates pieces S1 and S2 of keying information on the basis of a detected level and supplies them to a musical sound generation system 13. A musical sound generation system 13 generates a musical sound signal according to the pieces S1 and S2 of keying information and generates a musical sound according to the musical sound signal. |
