Reduction of water consumption in buildings - using pump and valves, to feed cold standing water in hot water pipes into cold water pipes

The arrangement is for use in buildings with centralised and/or non-centralised hot water supply. In periods in which no hot water is extracted, the water in the pipes between heater and consumer is maintained stationary, and is not circulated. Until the hot water reaches the extraction point, the cooled water from the hot water pipes is fed into the cold water pipe. This is achieved by pressure differentials, and extraction valves (6) and/or overflow pipes and valves. A pressure differential, e.g. excess pressure, is generated by a pump (8) with e.g. electric motor drive and an electromagnetic valve. USE/ADVANTAGE - Water consumption reduction system can be used in new and existing buildings. It permits hot water to be extracted from tap without loosing cold water.
