The method and apparatus for improving the yield ratio of flat display device by eye inspection comprises a conveyer (2) supplying a glass substrate (1) with certain period, a tester (4) radiating the ultraviolet ray against the glass substrate a lifter (5) changing the glass substrate position with 45 deg. inclination against the ultraviolet lamp (3). The changed position has 90 deg. from the view line of the operator. The lifter (5) comprises a pad (7) sucking the glass substrate with a vacuum hose (6), a hydraulic cylinder (9) lifting the pad, and a tow bar (10) controlling the incline angle of the lifter.
