A magnetically based display screen system in which there is applied to the rear side of a transparent screen carrier (2) a coating (7) in which there are incorporated capsules (5A, 5B) in which magnetic, light-absorbing and non-magnetic, light-reflecting particles (3, 4) are dispersed. In order to improve the quality of the image produced, in particular as far as the light/dark contrast and the definition are concerned, the coating (7) contains additional capsules (6) which contain just oil and are of significantly smaller diameter than the capsules (5A, 5B). The capsules (5A) also contain permanently magnetic particles (9). The image is produced by the displacement of active, magnetic light-absorbing particles (3) towards the front side of the screen (1) and simultaneous displacement in the opposite direction of the non-magnetic particles (4). <IMAGE> |
