Exchange of rollers in roller rotary printing machine - having new roller synchronised with moving paper, then glue sprayed on and activated by heat radiation

For accomplishing an on-line roller exchange a working roller is feeding the path and a new delivery roller in the exchange position. This latter roller is synchronised with the paper path from the working roller and is then glued to the paper which is then cut behind the gluing position. To create the glue joint, a convertible adhesive is used which is applied to the new roller and activated when the exchange takes place. The adhesive is sprayed onto the roller. The activation is by means of heat radiation, e.g. IR lamp (16). The roller exchange is performed automatically using a programmable controller (9). ADVANTAGE - No manual input required for simple inexpensive exchange method.
