The roller appts. to guide the double fourdrinier system has a central carrier roller (1) surrounded by a number of satellite rollers (2) covering up to 90% of its circumference, and driven by it. The satellite rollers (2) are held in place by adjustable pressure rollers (3) between them. The satellite rollers (2) have a smaller dia. than the central roller (1), and are in a ring round the central roller (1), with a ring gap of 10% or more of the total circumference with gaps between the rollers (2) dimensioned to take adjustable pressure rollers (3) to bear against the double fourdrinier (4) which contains the pulp (5). The adjustable pressure rollers (3) are held rigidly in a frame to give an individual height level and gap setting for each roller (3). The pressure rollers (3) are larger than the satellite rollers (2), but smaller than the central roller (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. provides a high pressure zone for the double fourdrinier section with a controlled surface pressure with the required deg. of water extraction in the material on moving onwards.
