A water-soluble instant tea product available as a tea plant extract held in a carrier substance should be inexpensive to produce and above all contain an increased concentration of the tea active substance in an appropriate presentation form. For that purpose, the tea plant extract is produced as a concentrated extract and is enclosed together with the carrier substance in a water-soluble capsule.
