This apparatus comprises an optical alignment system which has a window via which the user, wearing a spectacle frame and illuminated by a diffuse light, observes an object located at infinity via a dichroic mirror and reflects on it the image thereof to be picked up via a cofocal lens, which image is reflected by a conventional mirror and, via another dichroic mirror, it is conveyed to a matricial (matrix) image sensor at the same time as a visible infrared light beam emitted by a mixed light source controlled by a diaphragm and a condenser lens inversely covers the path between the mirrors and the cofocal lens, as far as the user. This apparatus makes it possible precisely and rapidly to determine the fitting parameters for ophthalmic lenses in a frame, avoiding parallax errors. <IMAGE>
