The rings and travellers, for spinning and twisting machines, have a hard coating of TiAlN. Pref. the coating thickness is not greater than 5 microns, and is a single and unified coating layer applied by vapour deposition. USE/ADVANTAGE - The coating, for rings and travellers for spinning and twisting machines where the travellers can move round the rings at speeds of 45 m/sec., has a hardness which gives an acceptable working life.
