Yarn splicing mechanism - has dual untwisting chambers each divided into large and small bore cylinders with a connecting slit

A yarn splicer is fitted with an untwisting jet chamber adjoining and parallel to an entrance chamber, with a slit connecting them. The separate ends (Y1,Y2) are pref. brought into the splicer (1) by lever action (10). Further levers (4,6) catch the yarn in a grip (5,7). The ends are then trimmed by the cutter mechanisms (8,9) while both yarns are held by the gripping lever (12). The free ends of yarn are then forced into the separate untwisting chambers (2,3) by air pressure, and suction through the jet tubes. The untwisting chambers (2,3) are in two sections, with a large dia. cylindrical bore to accept the yarn ends easily by air pressure. ADVANTAGE - The separate ends of yarn are held firmly and fully untwisted in a small bore cylindrical chamber, to separate the fibres, before being spliced.
