Air is drawn in via gratings (10-12) at intervals in the transverse direction. The gratings cover a passage (7) between the windscreen (3) and the bonnet (13). The air is delivered to an off-centre opening (17) in the dash (18). The fresh air entering near the opening is deflected in the vehicle lengthwise direction, passing from the opening into a passage (16) tapering in the transverse direction. This delivers a portion of fresh air entering via one or more gratings furthest from the opening. Approx. one-third of the fresh air can be delivered via the transverse passage. USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor-vehicle fresh-air intake gives good moisture-sepn. with low air-noise level.
