PURPOSE:To achieve optimum transfer and separation adjusted according to a change in humidity. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image is formed on a photosensitive drum by an electrifier 2 and an exposure means 3, and a toner image is formed by developing this by a development device 4. The transfer of the toner image to a transfer material and the separation of the transfer material from the photosensitive drum are carried out by a transfer electrifier 5 and a separation/ destaticization pin 6. The temperature of a fixing roller 9a heated in the ON- period of the main switch is measured having the temperature obtained in the OFF-period of the main switch as a reference. This OFF-period is comapred with the prescribed period required for humidity in the device main body to almost return to the humidity of an installation environment. When the OFF- period is longer than the prescribed period, transfer and separation conditions are determined based on the output of a humidity sensor 11, and when it is shorter, based on the preceding determined conditions. Thus, the transfer and separation conditions adjusted according to the humidity can be made optimum. |
