PURPOSE:To prevent merchandise sales data registered in a merchandise registration means from being deleted by outputting merchandise sales data to a storage device when merchandise sales data which are accumulated and held in an internal memory are transmitted to a high-order kind of machine. CONSTITUTION:A file processor 1 solely selects either of a transmission mode which transmits merchandise sales data collected from each terminal 2 through an inline 3 by a transmission request from a host computer 5 through a communication line 4 and an FDK output mode which writes data into a floppy disk mounted on a floppy disk device. When there is a failure in communication between the file processor 1 and the host computer 5 owing to the breakdown of the host computer 5, output to the floppy disk is instructed to the file processor 1 by using the terminal 2 set in a master machine, and merchandise sales data per day, which are accumulated and held in a pool buffer, are written and outputted to the floppy disk. |
